BIG BAND: 12 to 17 musicians, including a female vocalist and/or male vocalist. Dynamic trumpets and trombones, elegant saxophones doubling woodwinds, backed by precise rhythm provided by piano, bass , drums and guitar. All are experienced professionals able to switch easily from traditional to contemporary styles. The authentic Big Band Sound of Goodman, Dorsey, Basie and Ellington plus recent hits adapted to the big band format. Expect New York swing, West Coast push, romantic boleros, fiery Sambas and Mambos. And suddenly find yourself back in our times with the songs you love by Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Cheryl Crowe and Ricky Martin. ORCHESTRA: For very special gala events our Big Band becomes a
traditional orchestra with the addition of 9 strings. The library
is reminiscent of Hollywood and Broadway and very much inspired
by one of Vicho's heroes, Henry Mancini. While the pop/rock segment
of the band's library remains the same, the lush strings add another
dimension to the overall sound and presence of The Moondance Orchestra.
