What are my options for live music?
Fortunately, in a musical community as rich and varied as Dallas-Ft.
Worth, we have many options available for ceremony musicians. A
few of the more popular choices are string groups (usually trios
or quartets), vocal soloists, harpists, pianists, classical guitarists
or a solo instrumentalists such as a trumpet, flute or violin accompanied
by piano, organ or guitar. For a more unique presentation you might
consider a gospel choir, a bagpiper, a hand bell choir, a brass
quintet or a small chamber orchestra of 8-24 musicians.
DID EVERYONE HEAR THAT...?
Another option is to have a music and sound coordinator to play
prerecorded ceremony music and provide sound reinforcement for the
congregation. Hearing the wedding official, the bride and groom's
vows and the big "I do" are not something you want your
guests to miss. A sound coordinator and the proper on site sound
production will insure that nobody misses a word.

Where is the ceremony?
Many times the selection of ceremony musicians is in part determined
by the ceremony location. If you're planning a church or synagogue
ceremony you might want to consider the recommendations of the music
minister or organist. Frequently they have a referral list.
Ask if there are any specific guidelines or restrictions regarding
the music that may be performed. You'll find most music ministers
and or organists are receptive to working with other professional
musicians that you may hire on your own.
